Located about 40 minutes by car from the center of Kumamoto City, Ueki Onsen is a traditional hot spring resort that opened in 1895.
The hot spring water is like a thick lotion and is known as the "hot water for beautiful women" because of the high quality of the spring water, which has a beautiful effect on the skin.
The dozen or so inns in the hot spring resort area are unique, ranging from those with traditional Japanese structures to those with modern exteriors, and offer a wide variety of hospitality.
