The fresh vegetables lining this counter are sourced by owner Miwa Yamanaka. Many of them are unusual, so you'll want to ask her what they are!

Named with the French word for "Eat", Manger was opened over 15 years ago by Miwa-san, who wanted to have a place serving small plates to enjoy on the way home from work. With counter-only seating at the window, Miwa-san creates an ambience where even single women can drop in for a drink.

The daily menu is taped up in front of the counter. The menu lineup features home cooking made with ingredients from Kumamoto. With flavors that you can relax and savor, all of her cuisine is praised for its tastiness.

Located on Ginnan Street in Kumamoto City, "Mamefuku" is a pub named with the Japanese words meaning, "a little luck and a small happiness". Owner Megumi Matsu'ura has such a lovely smile that this place is always crowded! Seating is mainly at the counter, but there is also one table here.

Soon after opening, this pub is filled with single regulars at the counter, as well as workers dropping in for a drink before company events and those who come to enjoy an early meal. The best time to visit is just after Mamefuku opens at 5 pm.
