Are you a casual manga fan who wants to see how your favorite manga gets made? Or are you a budding artist looking to see the tools the pros use and talk with pro mangaka and editors? Come check out the Coamix Manga Lab in downtown Kumamoto City for a look at both the manga-making process and some one-of-a-kind memorabilia (like a life-sized Kenshiro statue!) and artwork from famous mangaka!

The lab has a full set of manga-making tools—from pens and ink to huge touchscreens—plus the opportunity to even schedule video meetings with Coamix’s editing department in Tokyo.

If you’re looking for more manga- and anime-related stuff to do in Kumamoto, be sure to check out the One Piece statues throughout the prefecture (including two in Kumamoto City) as well as the Kyushu Anime Deck at Sakuramachi.
