Tabaruzaka, the Battleground of the Seinan Civil War

This was the site of the 1877 Seinan War, also known as the Satsuma Rebellion. The Tabaruzaka Seinan Civil War Museum exhibits the background and conditions of the last civil war fought in Japan. Visit to find out the surprising link between Kato Kiyomasa and this bloody battle. Please consult the staff for guidance around the museum's archives.
